The Day Chris Boardman Came To Town

Shortly after setting his Hour Record at Manchester Chris Boardman came to Geoffrey Butler's Bike Shop in Croydon to flog copies of his book (surely "to meet his adoring fans"? Ed.) Even though it was on a Monday afternoon enough Addiscombe members bunked off work to make a trip down To GB's with the camera worthwhile!

Chris had a stack of books 8 feet high to get rid of!

Monty was keen to exchange training tips.

Shop manager Pete Corey. If you are Addiscombe he looks after you in the shop. A very sweet man...

They also have one of the bikes that Marco Pantani has used in the Tour.

Phil Nash can't believe it. He joined Addiscombe 3 months ago, met Chris Boardman and is now on Pantani's bike!
