Addiscombe Dinner and Prize Giving 2001

Every year Addiscombe hold a celebratory dinner in a posh hotel. This year it was held in the Posthouse Hotel in Croydon and was attended by 70 old members, new members and honoured guests.

We were very lucky in having both Dr. Mark Jones (GS Stella) and Keith Butler (Surrey League King) as guest speakers who kept us entertained with their tales. With Eddie Munday and Colin Davies also speaking for the club, the handily placed bar and the witty cross toasting the evening went with a bang.

I forgot to take many pictures as the evening seemed to go very quickly but I did manage to snap some of the trophy winners. Apologies for the crap photo quality (again) but technology and gadgets aren't my strong point. I'm eighty three you know...eighty three.

Jim Trenowden the Attendance King

Huw Griffiths and the 22lb MTB hernia trophy

Sylvain Garde only joined 6 months before and bagged our cyclo cross trophy almost immediately

Richard Claridge receiving his novice's prize after less than a year in the club

Keith Knight receiving the very closely fought road racing trophy

Gary Mikkleson won our Open JB Smith Road Race

Paul Tunnell with the new criterium trophy and various time trial silverware

Mark Bayliss with a brace of time trial trophies

Steve Davies has probably won a trophy every year that he has been in the club

Leon Wright from Team Clean will hopefully keep our 10 mile trophy spotless

Mark Jones from the victorious GS Stella team collects the 25 team award

Paul Mill won our open 25 time trial

Marco got an award for helping out now and again. Next year he dreams he might get one for riding fast.

Eileen took up the role of dolly bird while Eddie ran the raffle

John Watts can't believe he won a pair of Y-fronts in the Addiscombe raffle

He still can't believe it...
