For sale - USW Claud Butler tandem late 40s/early 50s

Hello, I’m selling my father’s tandem, the one I rode as a child with him. It’s an ultra-short wheelbase Claud Butler tandem from around 1950. The gearing is a Sturmey 3 speed rear hub with a cyclo 2 speed derailleur convertor. It has a cyclo twin cable rear mech with a top tube mounted lever. The wheels have drum brakes as well as rim brakes, one modernish and the other a GB I think. It is very much a mix of old and newish as my Dad was a user rather than a collector. The frame has had a complete respray in the original colours and transfers (NOT decals!) but due to sitting for some years in a damp shed, now has some surface rust mainly on the chrome ends. Size wise it is quite small at 20" front and rear.

I would really like it to go to a good home where it will get the attention it deserves and even be ridden again. It was the racing tandem of its time!

Price wise I'm asking £300.
