Brighton here we come! -TOUR OF BRITAIN 13th SEPT

Postby Jon C C on a Bianchi » Thu Aug 28, 2014 2:37 pm

Dear All

Here's the plan to go down and watch the Tour of Britain on Saturday 13th September 2014:

Meet Coulsdon South Station at 8.20. Leave Coulsdon South at 8.30 sharp!

On the way to Brighton ride via Horsham to watch the race ride through - there's a sprint point there so could be some action! Breakfast at Tunnel Towers - Bacon Butties and a cup of tea/coffee courtesy of Paul Tunnel. Veg option on application.

Then ride down to the Ditchling Beacon to watch and cheer on the pros as they make light work of 1K of climbing at 10%!

Cycle back from Ditchling to Coulsdon - scenic route. Should be back Coulsdon by approx 7.00pm.

It's something different to do and makes an alternative to the usual Saturday CR. Should be fun! If you are interested please put your name down here. We need to know numbers to work out how many groups we need and more importantly for Paul to know how much bacon to buy! :D

Thanks

The Captain

Does Mrs. T know about the bacon? I've just seen her but thought it best to keep quiet.

Jon, Paul,
I'm going to have to forgo this ride I'm sorry. I had also volunteered to marshall on Sunday and I now have a work deadline on Monday that's going to need a full day's work on the weekend so I'm going to work Saturday and keep my marshalling commitment on Sunday. Enjoy the ride and I hope to see you soon.

Hi Kylie

The race has been cancelled. I emailed about this last night and also updated the forum tread.

Thank you for being commited, really appreciated but I hope that change of plan makes the weekend better for you as you can hopefully make it to TOB and meet your work deadlines.

Hi All

The meeting place for the TOB ride is Nonna Rosas - cafe by the bridge in the centre of Coulsdon. Not Coulsdon South. Please spread the word.

Thanks

Noted Iliya, thanks. I'm still not going to make it. Sadly a colleague's father just passed away so I'm now working both days of the weekend :(
