Mountain Biking

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Mountain Biking

Hi All,

I know we used to have quite an active offroad contingent to the club a while ago, but unless I'm missing something this seems to have dried up a bit? Anyway, I've been going out a fair bit recently and wondered if there are any other Agreeables who'd want to go out on a more regular basis?

I personally can't commit to being out at a set time every weekend, but if there's enough interest it'd be nice to get something going. Bit of 'standard' offroad, some fun trails and maybe a trail centre visit once in a while?

To start off: I'll be going to Peaslake (Surrey Hills) this Sat at around 9.30am - will be riding for a few hours on the famous 'Barry Knows Best' 'Yoghurt Pots' etc, so you'll need at least front suspension (and a helmet). It'll basically be ride up a hill slowly, then go down it quickly, then repeat as necessary.

I'll be going anyway, but reply on here if you're coming.

Cheers

Nick

I've had a few contacts about MTB rides so there is demand out there.

Might it be possible to get 3-4 people together and a rota so we could run them at least fortnightly?

Sounds good Phil. I'm up for that.

Lesley, I think I've seen you out and about on the MTB around Selsdon/Sanderstead? I know a few loops in the area, probably good for potential XC club rides.

Hi Nick,

If you do something less downhill orientated and more cross-country style sometime, I'd be up for joining you on my cyclo-cross bike.

This is something my thoughts has been revolving around the last few months and something I'm hoping to try and re-engage. Either polish off my 15 year old (now classic) mtb or perhaps even buy a new one when funds and more limiting currently space becomes available.

I had even been considering re-joining my original club Bigfoot CC  and hitting the trails I did with them back in my late teens on said relic mountain bike.

I just struggle with the concept of the returning home like you've been dragged backwards around a farm  and having to drag self and machine through the house to then sort out without an outside tap. New facilities will hopefully have this need in mind but that is proving to be funds limited.

Simon, keep an eye on here. I'll post if I'm going for a cross country type ride. Recently I've been trying to make the most of the 'summer' to get some riding in on the trails around Dorking, but I'll probably do a few local rides soon.

Matt, I'm having the same problem with carrying a dirty bike through the house, it's not making me popular with the wife! As I've been driving to an area to ride I've been taking brushes/extra water etc to get the worst off before loading up - bit of a faff, but worth it.

I keep meaning to dig the MTB out this year as well! Need some fixing but should be up for a Surrey Hills ride in a few weeks.

Hi All

My name is Denis and I'm new to this forum, I am looking to get back into riding my mountain bike again.

I've noticed from reading your posts that a regular ride is not going at the moment. Would anyone be interested in starting up a regular weekend or evening ride, I'm pretty much free all day Sunday and any week night except Mondays, I ridden quite a lot in the past around titsey hill, woldingham and surrounding area, but always like exploring and getting lost, I'm also keen to travel to trail centres.

If anyone is interested, please message back!

I'd be up for a couple of MTB rides occasionally. Like yourself I can't commit to anything routinely but let me know when you plan on going out.

There's an informal MTB ride on Saturday 25th Sept. (week on Saturday) starting from Addiscombe.

It'll be led by Mark Browne for those of you who might know him. If you are interested can you call him or text him (probably best) on 07801 999 867 so that he gets an idea of the likely numbers.

Mark hopes to organise MTB rides fairly regularly in the future so this one will hopefully kick things off 8)

sounds good but might be more successful on sundays given the club run. I'll be in Spain that weekend but will keep my eye on the notice board
