Circuit of Danehill 2014

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Circuit of Danehill 2014

Need a motivated training ride? I highly recommend trying some of the local clubs' time trials.

This morning I rode out to Lewes Wanderers' "Circuit of Danehill" event. With a scenic ride back home over the Ashdown Forest this gave a quality 4 hours in the saddle.

The time trial goes from Chelwood Gate, down to Newick, across to Maresfield, up to Wych Cross and back to Chelwood Gate:

Pete Morris (ASL 360) put in a stonking course record time of 42:07. I was waaaay behind with 45:45, but good enough for 2nd overall.

4 hours riding, a quality threshold effort, tea & cake in a village hall, supporting other local clubs' events, sunshine, riding through woods full of bluebells, and home for lunch. What's not to like? I suggest you try it.

Yes Keith a great idea, and another great ride by yourself. Pete is one fast fella and a nice bloke to boot.
