Possible Tommy Godwin attempt

Taken from a thread started on the time trialling forum. The guy who is planning it Steve Abrahams (Teethgrinder), was and still is a bit of a legend in Audax circles. Many years ago when I was doing them it was not uncommon for him to ride 200k do a 600k Audax and then ride 200k home. In a weekend!!!

I hope he gets a chance to do it. The link on the thread to Tommy Godwin is interesting as well, especially the bike.

Good luck to him, what a schedule he needs to keep to.

All the best to him and started of with a nice 222 mileage. He took in the NBRC New Year's Day 10 and BBC were there so you may catch it on the news or website.

Steve had a small off on ice yesterday so only managed mere 157 miles! Back on today with 190.

Up to over 2,700 miles so far. I really don't envy him the miles in some of the weather we've had. Okay no snow but it's been cold on the commute and the wind has been tough.

Have to agree Andrew. I think that every time I go out. I am horrendously unfit though. Still don't think I could get anywhere close even if I was fit

Over 450 miles in the last 2 days! I did 92 yesterday and thought I'd done quite a lot.

That's still a good mileage, haven't been anywhere near that for ages. In fact the longest ride I have done recently was The OTHG ride with you and Alan!

First proper long one Dom, first 50 in drizzle wasn't fun but I need some long miles as I'm doing the 245k Flanders sportive at Easter weekend. Hadn't planned on it being a training ride for the possible Belgian weather as well though!

Over 3,500 miles done by 19th January!

Sounds good, must get myself organised to do it one year. Not sure how you simulate the cobbled climbs though!
