ACC Summer Social - CP Park 2nd August

Postby Snoop Doug » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:36 am

Hi folks

A reminder that there's an informal summer social get together happening. Bring friends and family (if you have any  ), and bring your own food and booze. If you want to bring frisbees, bats, balls etc then I'm sure we can organise some fun and games @ some point in the proceedings.

Meeting place is across from the concert bowl @ Crystal Palace Park. There are plenty of trees across the way to provide shelter from the lovely warm sun that I've just booked in.
Date is Sunday August 2nd
Meeting time is from 12.30
Nearest train stations are Crystal Palace and Penge West (not sure about buses but for sure the TfL site will tell yo uwhat you need to know).

Please spread the word. I can't make the club run this Sat but if you are going, please let folk know this is happening. All are very welcome. I hope to get a Lanterne Rouge out in the next few days to help publicise this too.

Cheers - Snoop

P.S. Buses from just about everywhere stop at the bus terminus on Crystal Palace parade.

Snoop, thanks for organising a very agreeable social day in the park. Both me and my little one enjoyed the game of rounder’s and my little one was kept very entertained by "Buddy Green" (Roy’s dog). Also cheers to Mrs. Mike for a taste of the yummy game pie :D

A great afternoon in the park enjoying the sunshine, chatting, drinking, eating (that was a mean pie Mike, or should I say Dale), and endless attempts of varying ineptitude to ride Tamar's unicycle.

A few other fun and games and I think my Mum and Dad's dog is half dead now having run about chasing his teddy bear being thrown by the small people almost continually - proper small people not me and my Dad.

Finally headed for home myself about 6, great idea Snoop we should make this an annual do.

Gutted I had to miss it but I didn't think everyone would appreciate the swine flu being spread around!

Now we know what to do with our dog! A great family occasion, thanks Carole and Snoop; first time I've played rounders in decades! Selection of photos to follow.
