SCCU 10, 21st March

Postby Jon H » Mon Mar 23, 2015 9:55 am

A cold and windy afternoon for the SCCU sporting 10 meant I recorded a personal worst of 27:52 for the G10/46 course. My excuse was a mid-week blood donation leaving me feeling drained. Next time I'll ask them to put some more in.

Paul Tunnel and Rob Royle-Evatt also had valid excuses for their times of 29:51 and 30:25 (Paul was riding 72" fixed, and Rob's race bike was broken so he was riding an old bike and had a mechanical).

Andrew Green was 3 seconds slower than me. Don't know what his excuse was.

No excuses needed for Keith Lea who came 4th in 23:31. Chapeau!

My excuse is simple Jon, 1st time I'd sat on the TT bike since October and I'm unfit :P .

Sunday's 25 was odd, a number of things occurring (other than me crawling around the course) but it's the first time I've had to stop to let a flock of sheep cross the road.

Hopefully I'll have found some oompf before the ACC 25.

Not as many as i should have and no speed work. Usual lazy "plan" of racing myself race fit.
