ACC Win SL Handicap - Kitsmead Lane

Paul and myself were nicely placed in the front group and Dave and Matt further back in other groups.

The race went absolutely perfectly to plan, we rallied the troops and in our group were around 8 to 10 riders and 5 or 6 were doing really good turns.

The pace was pretty relentless as we were driving it along at training group pace and there was no way the other groups would catch us. I felt great all race and knew what the result was gonna be already!

Half way through and it was really just 5 riders thru n offing 2 ACC 2 Paceline and a Dynamo the rest strung out behind holding on as best they could.

4 laps to go and Paul rode hard tempo got a gap and wanted me to follow to drop the weaker pace line rider, but I didn’t work that out till after.

2 laps to go I attacked just to see what would happen but I didn’t get away.

Ding Ding Last Lap I rode hard over the line and split the group to 4 riders then Paul launched the winning Plan he attacked on the uphil section by the first roundabout, I sat in on the Dynamo and Paceline riders and they were struggling to reel Paul back in on the incline, I was super confident and just sat on their wheels. Paul slightly eased up so they had a chance of catching and on the catch I jumped hard with everything I had.

Nailed it on the Aeroad down the Hill at speeds approaching 100 mph looked round and couldn’t see the others so kept it going for a solo win over the line.

Was about 4 mins until the chasing group finished so everything went to Plan!

Paul then had another mechanical and rolled in after the pack.

Thanks to Paul and ACC for yet another win. :D
