Beastway 2001
The Beastway series held at the Eastway
cycle circuit is a sure sign of summer arriving. Held over 12 weeks from
May to August it attracts 200 mtbers every Wednesday evening to do battle
on a purpose built off road circuit. All categories compete from Juveniles
to Novice to Experts including a fantastic women's race each week with
results counting to a final end of series position. The series has been
running as long as we can remember and Addiscombe, being one of the top
off road clubs in the South East have been helping out since the
beginning. On July 25th we promoted a
round and the pictures below try to give you an idea of what goes on. Bolts's

handy car boot canteen gadgets with them.

Beastway
always gets a really exciting women's competition every week
and
they even run a novice race to introduce people into racing
The
youths and juveniles race for about 40 minutes
Addiscombe
President Joyce was in the middle of the action. Two riders fell at her
feet, one had a suspected busted wrist and another had the stuffing
knocked out of him. Hopefully they will both be ok to race another day
Ouch.
A busted set of Pace forks. Luckily for this rider there is a Pace recall
so he should get a replacement pair. Luckier still he wasn't injured when
they snapped.
John
Webb is a hard man. His seat fell off on the last lap and kept on racing.
Did the St Johns ambulance crew have any Anusol?
Winner
of the juvenile men's category, Alan Lewsey was pleased to get his first
win.
These
Agreeable promotions often seem to end up in the pub: Eileen, Sylvain,
