Letter From Italy Part 2

I will quickly write about the race last weekend for Addiscombe. It was the Trofeo Caduti di Soprazocco, a UCI 1.6 rated race . I didn't feel good warming up but when the race started I felt great riding at the front. There were very hilly last laps on the finishing circuit with a 2 km climb. I got dropped with 2 laps to go and tried to get back on to the back of the group but was just of the back at bottom of the climb so my race was over. Out of 200 starters only 45 finished and  I was the last person not to finish which was a bit annoying but I'm pleased with where I am going.

I'm getting a little bored of riding in the morning then eating, having a little sleep, eating again and then sleeping. It is better when we are at races as it is more interesting and racing is fun but quite scary in a big bunch when everybody wants to be at the front.

I got complemented on my Italian today in the supermarket but it isn't very good really although it is improving . I have been training with the Italian national elite champion, and Kim Kirchen of Fasso bortolo and the director sportif of the pro team is Oscar Pelicoli who rode for Mercatone Uno last year.

Anyway lots more to say, sorry about the mistakes but I've got to go to bed now. I will try to send more emails soon but I haven't found a local internet cafe so I am using other riders e mail.

Ciao, bouna notte.

Steve
