Agreeable Cover Star

We've always had triathletes in Addiscombe ever since the sport first took hold in the UK. Two of our best tri stars are the Bayliss brothers who joined Addiscombe in the early 1990s as teenagers looking to improve their cycling. Not only did they improve to such a point where the rest of us couldn't  keep up with them they also took the honours in lots of large triathlon competitions.

In May 2003 Steve Bayliss took his biggest win ever when he became the WORLD LONG DISTANCE TRIATHLON CHAMPION  for 20-25 year olds which puts the club back on the world stage. 220 Triathlon Magazine picked up on Steve's prodigious talent and hard work and featured him as their cover star on the August 2003 issue. Steve is currently targeting the biggest races in the triathlon world but still has time to come out on Addiscombe clubruns when his training schedule permits it and is always happy to give advice and help to other riders looking to start out in local sprint triathlons and enter the world of multi sports.
