Trek T1 Track Bike For sale - £250

Postby Nick W » Wed Aug 29, 2012 5:07 pm

I need some garage space so, as above, in red (I think that was the only colour they made it).

Alloy frame of 61cm (I am 6' 3" so you need to be reasonably tall!).

Ambrosio hubs/rims built by Pete at Butlers. Carbon Bars. Titanium BB.

Good condition albeit with the odd inevitable scratch here and there.

So tempted, but sounding out Mrs. Pie I got "Why don't you ride the bl**dy bikes you've already got?". And she has a point.

Two points.

1.Riding this bike will, de facto, extend the lives of the other bikes you have and therefore costs you nothing.

2.Is Mrs Pie not familiar with Neutron's Law as to the optimum number of bikes to own i.e. x + 1 ("x" being the number of bikes presently owned)? I hasten to add that I will not be offending against this Law insofar as the track bike is making room for a tandem, x - 1 + 2 getting to the same result.

There is the "S - 1" issue too.

The trick, as I understand it, is to sneak the bike into the garage/shed (works best with either of these) undetected and not say anything. Eventually, when the wife/girlfriend/partner asks if that is a new bike, you can, in all honestly, proclaim that it's been there ages....

If I have a choice between track bike (which I might use occasionally) and foreign spring training trip (which might spur me on to sort myself out over winter) then ....

I dunno.
