Wanted. Carbon Bike complete

Postby Marky Mark » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:55 am

Tis I Marky Mark,

I'm due for a semi fat bonus 8) from my company at the end of April, fingers crossed 99% sure.

My current bike is a Bianchi Nirone aluminium 59cm frame (which does seem a tad too small for me), Alu carbon forkes, Countach rims. Prety much standard bike I got from GB in the middle of last year, it's badged up as a Liquigas pro cycling team bike. I bought this bike to see if i'd like riding on the road, well I do LOTS. Mainly because I joined the agreeables.

I have a buyer lined up for this bike now, so i'm looking to ACCers first to replace it. If anybody has a good quality bike that might suit my needs, please let me know to save me having to by a bike from a shop. I'm 6' 2" tall so the bike must be in my range.

Even if noboby has what I need, maybe you could offer some advice on an entry level new bike.

Many many thanks, Marky Mark
PS or Titanium my favorite material being an engineer

don't bother with that carbon rubbish - I'm getting a titanium bike from Pearsons. It's an Enigma and you can probably buy an off-the-peg size. You can either get just the frame and build it up with whatever you want or buy a whole bike, ready to roll. I'm looking at about £2 grand or a bit over. http://www.enigmabikes.com

You might as well treat yourself to an all new bike :D

weird.

or I spose you could view your bike lasting forever like Trigger's 20 year old brush... albeit with 17 new heads and 14 new handles. :)

Why would you want it to last more than 5 years, surely it will be a bit dirty and something new will have been launched and therefore you'll just go and buy a new one right :?:

Must admit I was a bit dubious, but decided to go for it anyway. I built my Cervelo R3 with Chorus groupset without wheels for about £2,450. Add on some decent Campag Neutrons for about £400.

Cheers

Marek.....

What about just wrapping your existing bike in carbon?

Would be a lot cheaper and is claimed to give you "lateral rigidity... and an unexpected helping of vertical compliance"

I was waiting for someone to spot it - perhaps I should have posted it on the main forum like I did for the M25 spoof
