SRM cranks now available on ebay

Postby Marky Mark » Wed Apr 16, 2008 11:52 am

I am starting to see these SRM power meters suddenly appearing on ebay, to buy for £1,019.00 or bid on them. I have been doing checks on SRM's for a few weeks now, :!: Be careful as these are being taken off Cannodale Super Six bikes as the SRM comes as standard on it (the standard photo does not show the meter but the spec for it describes it ).

Just search SRM on ebay in the sporting goods categories. or http://www.srm.de

The entry level SRM only has 2 strain gauges in it with an accuracy of + 5% Costs new $2,250.00
Up to the 8 strain gauge ones that vary in price between $3,575.00 and $5,600.00  (U.S dollars) these range in accuracy between + 2% and + 0.5%. SOME of the Cannodales come with a SRM SI Hollowgram Crank fitted to them, the crak alone will cost you $3,575.00 new. A complete bike sold on ebay last week for £1,650.00, But I didn't trust the seller, so I let it pass me by.

Also keep an eye out for the ones with ANT+Sport tm technology on them as these are wireless compatible with the Garmin edge 705 and the 605. They also produce a crank with a solar panel on it, no good for this country then!!! But they do come with an internal buffer battery.

Happy hunting my fellow agreeables. From your ever loving Marky Mark :D
