Swimming Wetsuit

Postby Hal » Tue Mar 02, 2010 5:33 pm

I am looking to get a swimming wetsuit, but need a decent one with 5mm body but still flexibility in the arms for longer distance swimming.

Does anyone have any recomendations?

Even better does anyone have one in the back of the wardrobe that they would be willing to lend/rent to me for 6 months? (6ft tall and skinny)

Thanks

Hal

I have a new swimming cap if you want it

Are you going to swim to John O Groats?

Fit is the most important.
Use tri shops and try them on.
Shame you didn't go to the TCR show in feb as there were hundreds to try there.
Don't rush into it. Its too cold before May anyway.

a 2Xu comp wetsuit will do, you'll need to try it on first though, there's a shop in leatherhead called triworks, and then theres sigma in kingston, worth a visit

Hal - I have been really pleased with the Speedo one have. It is an STR 1.5 and is triathlon specific so should do what you are after. I hired it initially from these people: http://www.wetsuithire.co.uk/. All done online, brand new and £50 for the season. Bargain. :D

good advice nick, i need a wesuit too for some tri action this coming up way too fast :) if you could only be bothered to go to one of those shops, which is better/has more selection? I live in richmond, so kingston would be pretty easy to get to for me...

After trying on a large number I opted for the cheapest :D

Ironman - Pursuit This was comfortable, boyant and good for 7 hours in lake windermere.

I think that the other option was a BlueSeventy - Fusion
