Although racing for our Tri club, SLH Tri. These two are also members of Addiscombe, regular club run riders and regularish at the club TTs.

Well done to Ryan Evans (68th overall and 7th in age cat) and Ed Thruston yesterday (93rd overall and 11th in age cat), in completing the Swashbuckler middle distance triathlon in scorching weather.
It was a fantastic race between one of my best friends and my boyfriend and was pretty nerve racking to watch.
They both had good swims in a mass start of over 400. Ed put in an excellent effort on the bike and had a good lead on Ryan by over 10 minutes after T2, but Ryan had his determined face on for the run and absolutely stormed it on the first lap, making up that 10 minutes.
Ryan came over the finish line in 68th place and Ed in 93rd (in his first middle distance race).
It was a great day and an amazing atmosphere. Well done guys!

Cool - sounds like a good race.

Not sure that I would be too happy if my girlfriend best friend beat me though
