There's another venue for the Saturday morning free park runs (same that run the Banstead one):

You'll need to get a barcode on the website

Alright never reported on this, but I've done it twice and it's good, very informal and with a variety of runners, usually 20+.

You do two laps on the outer edge of the grassy bit of the park, it gets pretty slippy in places when it's been raining.

Just log on to get your bar code, print it and bring it with you to have your time registered.

I have done the Richmond Park one a few times and also the Wimbledon one.. Very good grass roots set up with a wide range of abilities, top marks for organising it I think... Bit of a shame that everyone drives to it but there you go.. Carl Ferris has done some v quicktimes at Crystal Palace when I looked a while back..

Indeed! Palace all on tarmac it seems but should be quite hilly.
I'm back at Lloyds hopefully for the first time in the dry to try improve my pb ..

I think palace is one of the hilliest park runs around. Its two and a bit laps, a small section probably about 1k or so is on soft gravel and the rest on tarmac. Good testing course that doesn't really have a flat section hopefully be back there soon once i'm properly running again
Richmond park is supposed to be a nice one......

Palace +/- 75m uphill http://connect.garmin.com/activity/58602654

Lloyd +/- 60m. But tough in the wet!
