Ocean Lake sprint tri 25-04-15

First triathlon of the year at Leybourne lake near Maidstone. 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run.

Seemed like a good idea when I entered, didn't seem like such a good idea when getting into the lake with 13 degree water temperature.

Had a fairly dreadful swim, exiting in something like 62nd place out of about 100 competitors, followed by a complete faff in T1 getting out of my wetsuit and losing another 5 places.

Made up about 20 places on the bike which was nice. I pretty much had a target to reel in all the way round the bike course.

Very strange sensations on the run; I couldn't feel my toes for the first 1k or so, but it wore off. Got caught by a few and I caught a few. Finished in 44th place out of 97 in 1:20:21 which is about the time I was aiming for.
