Ninder's gone to the pub and I'm with baby so chance to give you an update. Ran 15 miles with runners world organised ride around Richmond Park on Sunday morning. It was a great event, free, well run. There were five pacing groups, starting from 7 minute miles - I did the slowest group at 11 minute miles. The run was fully paced, with the pacer holding up a bizarre stick saying 11 minute miles on it. He held it up the whole way, so his right bicep was prob 3 inches larger than his right at the end. The whole run was off road, only having to contend with mountain bikers ! I didn't take to anyone, first hour was boring, but started to get into half way through, when I realised I was going to do it. Sprinted (thats what i call it anyway) up the final hill opposite Isabella Plantation car park, and completed in 2.45 spot on 11 minute miles. I think I could keep that up for the marathon.
Did half hour cross training at the gym on Tuesday, including a run programme. Weighed myself, seem to have gone down from 80 kg to 78 kg - finally after 2 months training...
Only 6 weeks to go to marathon now, so entered have entered Kingston Asics morning run on Apri 1st - at 16 miles its the longest run im planning to do - its three weeks before marathon - so ill taper down from then
Had chance to be in Tdf advert today but couldn't go, and can't make it for whole day tomorrow, so hoping to join the morning ride out to London. Have take Look out of basement and put back together....
