Tri Tri Tri Again

Postby Snoop Doug » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:08 pm

Seems there's a small and growing interest in triathlons 8) quick on the uptake me eh

Mr Snoop sez, good luck to you all - nutbars the lot o ye

Mrs Snoop sez, "If there's demand for it, I'd be happy to run a Team ACC swim technique session."

So what d'you think folks? Appreciate that y'all may have yer own separate arrangements but take it from one who knows, the lovely lady knows a thing or two about swimming. Put a reply here and let's see where it goes....

I would be interested, but would probably need to be at weekends but could do weekdays depending on where it was held. I would quite like to get someone to give me a few pointers.

Cheers

No interest in doing a triathlon but if there is enough take up then wouldn't mind tagging along for some swimming pointers. I discovered in my one trip to the swimming baths as an adult that it's harder than as a sprog weighing next to nothing, I don't float naturally anymore :( .

Sounds interesting!

I may need to take time off the bike to recover from a knee problem and was thinking swimming would be a good way to maintain some fitness

So - what next...?

Well - keep 'em coming if you are interested need to get an idea of numbers. Mrs Snoop will speak to da boss at da pool and find out when it's available for a group "stroke workshop" her words not mine!!

How frequent should this be? Weekly, if so for how many weeks? Block book a few? Monthly? Fortnightly? Mrs Snoop was thinking along the lines of 20 mins of technique/instruction followed by time to practise the learning. It's a very nice clean 25m pool near Kingswood, Tadworth.

Rob - I don't see why not mate? Mrs Snoop ain't a member :D

Cheers Snoop,

If I have a choice then later evenings or weekends suit me and I think i'd need to go at least weekly to stop myself slipping into bad habits.

Weekly would be good if you can get enough as there will be weeks where I cannot make it due to work etc, so the more you get the more likely you will get a reasonable group and by running it weekly you will catch more people in each group etc. Maybe run it along terms as in school terms so that people get breaks for holidays etc.

Pool destination sounds cool to me, an 8pm start would be best for me.

Cheers

I`m not a great swimmer, but often thought I`d like to improve. wouldn`t mind giving it a tri. Can only get better.

If we want to get really specific I would vote for a Tuesday evenin' - it's the only night in a week I'm not sitting at a pool for hours watching my daughter training (glad triathlon doesn't ask for a bit of compulsory 'fly having seen her plough up and down, otherwise technical sessions would be the least of my worries  )

Think this is a great idea - thanks.

Oh bugger it involves running.

I can nearly ride a bike now without falling off.
I can swim at least a few lengths of a paddling pool without drowning.
I can't run to save my life, the front of my shins hurt when I do.

Over to you ACCers, let me have it......
