Ride to Wisborough Green Saturday 10 July

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Saturday or Sunday's fine by me.

If it's me then I'm thinking Saturday - meet at CSS - and reprise my ride to Wisborough Green.

Ivor?

Sorry Amy, I wWould love to but at the moment I have birthday obligations to both a wife (mine) and a child (also mine) and Sunday would be out for me too as I am walking on the South Downs Way.

Another time....

I'm doing a 100 mile time trial. Does that count?

Nah, that's just bl00dy stupid
You can't have cafe stops in a time trial - not to mention it probably starts at some ungodly hour of the morning.

Nick, you'll have to get your priorities right! I want to do a long ride next weekend too.

Next weekend would have been great but I am walking 24 peaks in the Lake District!

You're right Amy, I need to get a life and prioritise better!

What a misconception. In the first 100 mile TT I ever rode one of the McDermotts stopped for a cup of tea and piece of cake in the HQ at 80 miles before completing the last 20 miles.

Addiscombe won the team event by a couple of minutes from their team as a result :D

Paul Tunnell has been know to have the odd McDonald's midway through a TT as well  and Joyce has very kindly made me coffee and provided chocolate caramel biscuits whilst someone else changed my bike wheels and gave it a quick clean mid-TT.

Didn't someone in the club once do a bonk avoidance mad dash in to a shop during a 100? I seem to recall someone saying they grabbed food and dropped a load of money on the counter apologising to those waiting in the queue sorry I'm in a race.
Thankfully the SCCU 100 doesn't go past the cafe on the Cowfold leg any more as the smell of bacon cooking could lure a weak man off his bike.

Sorry Amy, hijack.

Dont know what happened there... I was trying to amend the title and put the d on the end of weekend.

Anyway, I was thinking about the route and if anyone can't stay out all day, you could come part way towards Coldharbour and then drop down and head towards the cafe at Charlwood or see if the one in Beare Green is still there (near Holmwood station).

Andrew, I wouldn't worry, the jokemeister got there well before you did

Don't worry, NIck - your life sounds much more exciting than mine :(

How fast are you thinking Amy? I've decided I cant be bothered to trapse down to Thruxton for a fast 10 having bagged one last week so will actually be on a club run mid-season  . Was planning faster rides this weekend but could do miles on Saturday if at a decent pace without a lot of stopping.

Errrrr.... it won't be particularly fast - it'll be whatever I can cope with.

Of course, I'm happy to be made to go a little faster and build up a little bit more strength before hitting the ToBM (are you coming, Rob?).

It will, of course, be an agreeable ride - waiting and regrouping as necessary.

This is to confirm that I will be riding to Wisborough Green this Saturday, meeting at CSS for 9am and leaving 9.15am.

Hope to keep the pace steady but not overly fast but we will wait for people if necessary.

Everyone welcome :D

Do you reckon it will be possible to get back to Reigate for 3:00pm? Even if not, I am tempted. I need the miles.

Fortunately I've got Phil's email so we're sorted now - he has permission to miss 3+ hours of junior amateur dramatics.

Should be a lovely ride, lovely scenery, cafe's not bad and how about trying out some of Nonna Rosa's ice-cream before we head for home? So anyone else up for this?

[quote="Amy"]So anyone else up for this?

I'll probably join you for the trip out and then play it by ear as I want to get back a bit earlier.

EDIT: Sorry change of plan as I need to get back so will just be a standard one for me tomorrow.

Not just a 100, the National Championships. Good luck, I wouldn't fancy a 100 in this heat. How long do you think you'll keep the God of 100s at bay?
