Ride this Sunday 29 Aug - now Monday

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

And spoil the rest of ride  I have it all planned and nearly all memorised... I'll have the map just in case

No, it's only v short section of the A23 across to Tinsley Green then I'll head towards Smallfield (though I plan to avoid the place itself) on my way towards Blindley Heath.

Oh well, looks like a nice group going, see you tomorrow. Better set my alarm as the cat has been going off late

Well, that was a nice route. 58 miles door to door. I can see a few extra options (Ranmore) that could be added to make it more challenging but that was about enough for me. There were about 10 of us in the end. Opinion seemed divided at time as to what an "easy pace" was but we always re-grouped.

Thanks to Amy for sorting it out.

Another great ride in some lovely picturesque lanes and yet another great cake stop.

A large mix of abilities means that there was a bit of waiting but that's all part of the fun, push yourself as hard as you like or just tootle along up the hills and down the dales. :D I loved it and had some great giggles out there today along with some splendid refrigerator chocolate cake. Nice to see Alan M back out and about. Amy was suffering towards the end but looked like she enjoyed it. Thanks one and all :D

Thanks to Amy our estimable leader and guide, and to all those who towed me along, even Ben!

Glad people enjoyed it. Despite not being able to keep up after awhile, I did feel I was riding quite well: Leith Hill didn't feel as bad as last time when I rode so maybe there's some progress.

Thanks too to those who tried to tow me around and even, in Ben's case, pushed or attempted to push me back onto the group but by the end what with the pace and that nagging headwind, I gave it up as a lost cause and just kept to my own pace.

edit - think Ant even started to come back and look for me at Reigate Heath (either that or he was hoping for a quick whizz in the trees again...)

There were 10 of us out - me, Alan M, Ant, Phil H, Robert E-R, Del and Andy, Ben, JulianG and KozloPete.

btw Alan, please could you do me a favour - GET RID OF THAT PHOTO!!

I'm using at as a screen saver now, it stops the kids going on the computer and playing games all day.

ROFL! I nearly spat my biscuit over the keyboard when I read that!

Really good ride today. Great route Amy, and sorry for my somewhat tardy arrival at CSS this morning.

The route from Leith HIll down through Walliswood and back up Wear Lane (?) was excellent as was the cake stop at Tanhouse Farm. Chocolate refrigerator cake! Mmm.....

Thanks, Alan. Don't know what you're thinking of - I'm known for not liking any picture of me and that one, Ant's right, would scare little kids off easily...

Lovely views over the countryside yesterday but definitely a very autumnal feel. Robins have started singing again by my flat - along with some annoying little bird going tseeeeeeeep, tseeeeeeeeeeeeep, tseeeeeeeep at a very annoying pitch.

...there's no such thing as an annoying little bird. Now the meow of a cat on the other hand....

Just to add my thanks to Amy for an excellent ride - thoroughly enjoyed the route which took in a few roads that I have not been down for some time and the weather made it all the more enjoayble. Good company and well chosen cafe stop - being towed all the way back by Ant - all in all a great way to spend a Bank Holiday morning!

Just a word of thanks Amy, even though a little belated, directing a group of men round the Surrey highways n byeways. Had a great time, though I`d been having doubts about riding, glad I did. :D

S'OK. Yeah, I do find it a bit strange, me the girl 'leading' blokes on rides (allbeit from the back). Whaddya mean, doubts?

Sounds like you've got a talkative cat - mine hardly meows at all but she speaks volume with her glares... And that bird is annoying - probably like me.

Did Pete get back ok from Merstham?

Hi Amy.
Thanks for an excellent ride, Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I don't know what happened but my gears just would not change properly and when in gear tried to jump to the next. Reseating the wheel seemed to sort out the problem so have put it down to not tightening the quick release lever up tightly enough.
cheers Pete.
