Ride to Open 10 on Saturday

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Ride to Open 10 on Saturday

Postby Amy » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:00 am

As I don't have to bake this time, I was planning on coming out on the club run as normal and then riding back up to North Holmwood to take up my canteen duties. It would be nice to bring along a bunch of Agreeables - anyone else?

I have to be there for 1.30 so no need for rushing - could even make it a very short stop at Charlwood and go and have a pub lunch at the Chequers I think it is or other suitable pub on the way 8)

Subject to shifting this cold...

Is the Open 10 on the g10/42 then? I suppose we can enter on the day? What time does it start? Is all this info elsewhere here and I've missed it all?

And no, you can't enter on the day. Sorry, Sylv

But you can come and shout abuse, I mean, encouragement, at all the riders instead :D

Yes on Holmwood. No you can't enter on the day it's an Addiscombe promotion of an open TT not a club TT. All the info is along with all the other info about all Open TTs, on the CTT website and in the handbook. Wakey wakey Sylv you know how TTs work, you still a bit tired after your endurance MTBing throughout August.

Amy, if you get lots of takers for your ride, please let me know so I can arrange to go large on the CAKE supplies.

Choice of pubs - either the Queen's Head just after the turn for the start (opposite Punchbowl Lane as used on the route to Box Hill) or back a bit, the Plough at Blackbrook.

Thanks, Andrew, I wasn't going to say anything :D but I did like the t-shirt response, Sylv.

Jon, just seen your post - I'll try to warn you...

'Snot looking good for me - first day off sick in over a year and a half

But I trust someone will pick up the baton if I'm not there and lead a merry crew of Addies up to see the TT (try not to hit the cake until all the tt'ers and marshals have had first dibs...)

I'm hoping that I'll be well enough to either do either the whole ride or to at least ride down straight from home (probably stop for lunch somewhere - Queen's Head looks good) but if not... anyone able to give me a lift out?

It will be a case of see how I feel when I wake up on Saturday.

Hope you get over it Amy, if you feel well enough to pour tea but not ride give me a shout and I can give you a lift as long as you don't sneeze on me :D . I'm off first rider so would be looking to get there at 1pm.

Thanks, Andrew. I'm back in work - no longer feels like someone trying to chisel my face off - and well enough to pour tea. I'm thinking that I may get the train down to Dorking and ride from there just to get a bit of exercise with out exhausting myself.
