Over the Hill Gang mid week rides

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

We went but hit ice on CV road. Sam fell and I followed and 5 mins later a commuter came down. All ok but sam drew a little blood and other guy cracked his hat. My least painful road fall to date. So coffee at Nonna's for me

Nothing broken as far as I can tell. Just a lot of bruising and skin missing on thigh, elbow and fingers. I'll take that for my first tumble of the winter. See you Thursday, if the temperature rises...

good, we got off lightly I feel. I think in future I must be more certain before I venture out - sub zero and damp is clearly a sign! Bruise is forming now but not too bad, a bit grazed but no broken skin. I am beginning to think I need to leave the country!

Good plan. I might take the cheaper option and grab myself a turbo trainer for these sub-zero days...

Thanks for the confirmation Alan. Regretfully my wife says I need to be daddy daycare until 1330. I'll ride in the afternoon few box circuits.

Ok, another time. The list is pretty representative of what happens but varies occasionally according to weather and who turns up. Occasionally the fast and slower groups go as one and there is generally a slower still group SAS, slow and social

Over the Hill Gang mid week rides from Betchworth
Just a bit of an update: Of late sometimes the faster and slower groups have come together as one group so it is probably prudent to arrive at 9.45 when, depending on who is leading, the group leaves promptly, but sometimes not! Another ad hoc group seems to have formed, SAS which I think means steady and social, probably in response to faster 'slow group' speeds which have left some gasping - this seems to leave from the same place around 10, probably 15mph average. Occasionally the slow (and generally largest) group splits according to numbers and cafe capacity. Sometimes Connor and John join on Tuesday but do part, but not all of the ride.

The plan for the next ride, Tuesday is as follows and I will probably pass Nonna Rosa's between 8.55 and 9.05.

These are all social and well ordered rides with a cafe stop and I usually get home between 2 and 4 depending on distance etc. The most I do is around 85 and least 55 miles. Generally there are between 1 and 5 ACCers. Enjoy!

Fifth Tuesday in the month 09:45 BILLINGSHURST (Whispers) 10:00 BALCOMBE (Balcombe Tea Rooms)
Fifth Thursday in the month 09:45 HIGH_BEECHES (High Beeches Tea Rooms) 10:00 PENSHURST (Porcupine Pantry Café, Penshurst Place)

Probably best try with the SAS group for the first one - Bridget found it was around her pace I believe. The slower OTHG usually averages around 16.5-17.5 but generally more lumpy ride than the club run
