Monthly Weds rides

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Hi Vince,
I shall be there in spirit, but not actually, as I'll be on holiday. But pleased to see that you are keeping the Wednesday rides going. I was out at the Downe cafe today, but no one else was; used to be a fairly regular any-Wednesdays event. So I had to content myself with a nice chat with the sweet waitress there .... :)

I'll be joining next Wednesday's ride after really enjoying my first trip out with the Wednesday group last month, ably led by Vince.

I got back into cycling last summer after very many years and have gradually been improving on my distance, speed and fitness. After a lot of solitary riding was interested in going out with a small group, so turned up with my hybrid at East Croydon not knowing quite what to expect. We turned out taking a longer ride than usual which was rewarded halfway with a mug of coffee and an enormous slice of chocolate cake. Great fun, great cycling, great scenery, great company and great cake!

So I'll be there on Wednesday. This time with the road bike which should help to eat up the hills and the miles much more easily.

Hoping to lead this ride with Shak tomorrow. This will be my third time on this ride. It is good fun.

The only possible drawback tomorrow is the weather as the current forecast is for light, followed by heavy, rain. We may need to reconsider tomorrow morning. Watch this space!

Shak and I will be at East Croydon station at 10 in case anyone turns up. We'll then decide what to do in the light of the weather. Perhaps a shorter ride before the risk of heavy rain.

Yes, I'm looking forward to coffee and cake again - and a good ride - on 4 Dec. Hopefully it wont be so damp this time, but that's really no drawback unless it rains hard or continuously. Hoping it will be fine!

Shak unable to make it, and others who had registered on Sky Ride failed to turn up. It was drizzly but I went off on my own. Really disappointed to find the Downe Village teashop closed despite advertised opening times in the window. However a very good alternative found at the Holwood Farm Shop further back up the road towards Keston. Excellent coffee and cake and they even provide bike locks on request. A good, if solitary, ride.
