:D 8)

WEAR ACC KIT, bring money, camera, spare inner tubes, snacks etc.

Lunch at the Regency as usual!Free cake at Nonna's! Just call in and order a coffee or cup of tea or whatever and enjoy a lovely slice of home made cake courtesy of Addiscombe CC :D :D

Don't forget if you can't join us for the trip to Brighton you can always come along as far as Turners Hill and make your own way home. It's about the same distance as the normal CR. And of course, there is no compulsion to do the there and back - many ride to Brighton but take the train back.

Anyway, whatever you decide...

Be there or be square and happy cycling.

Hi
Does anyone know if any of our Club Run riders came back via Shoreham on Saturday 22 August?

regards

Been trying to piece it together on FB just now. Looks like 3 groups who went that way are accounted for, a 17s with Robyn, an 18s ish that I was in and a faster (training?) group. As far as I know all went literally right through the crash zone, as that's where you cross the A27. I didn't really realise how close the timing was until today. probably all within 20 mins before incident.

But better safe than sorry, as it's difficult to know if anyone rode off on their own - can all have a think that everyone you rode down with was seen on the way back, or on FB, or Strava etc?

Not exactly based on definitive fact, but I reckon any groups that went via Shoreham should have been through that junction on the A27 by then. (We saw the Alan M/ Lesley W group and Robyn's group at Rusper)

I think(?) we were the last to leave The Regency - a large mixed bag of a group made up of:

The Alternatives
Peter & Toby
Doug & Peter
Remnants from the 19/20 group including Steve R, Ben F, Cash, Will, Mick(?), Ed plus another couple.

We left for the Devils Dyke around 10 mins or so after the previous group had left the Regency, and whilst unaware of the significance at the time, when we stopped at Dyke Golf Club to regroup, we could see the black smoke, by the looks of things almost immediately after the accident.

As I say, whilst not based on definitive fact, but as it's takes virtually the same time to get to Dyke GC as it does to get to the A27 junction, any group that went via Shoreham hopefully had been through that jucntion at least 10 minutes before.

The 18ish group went through the junction on the A27 at 1:15, per my Strava investigation.

We had stopped for a good time in Shoreham to try and sort puncture & cleat issues.

The Robyn group would have been well ahead of us. Don't know if any TG was behind but I had assumed they went via the Dyke?

Hi Ant - I was in your group (Simon - this was the same group as Lesley, Alan, etc). Yes Robyn's group were ahead.

Not actually sure where I got the idea of another group behind us. Could have sworn I saw a post on FB which I thought was from a TG regular, but can't find it now. To be honest, I got pretty worried yesterday so may not have been thinking 100% straight.

So it sounds like no ACC people were caught up in the incident as far as we are aware?
Not wishing to tempt fate but I suspect we would have heard by now if any ACC people had been affected.
