Club run 5th November

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Club run 5th November

Decided to take it easy with the last group as I'm still getting over that lovely cough that's currently everywhere. Started off a bit wheezily but things got better until I came up the Merstham drag at a nice clip - just couldn't quite maintain it to catch up with the earlier breakaway group (I'd stayed at the back for awhile with Ian and Phil N until I'd decided to go for it). Managed to do the full route via Norwood Hill, Charlwood and Rusper Hill but, not being a fan of Box, I came back with a small select group, that missed the worst of any climbs - except for that one back up Trumpets Hill. I believe it was Ian who said it was worse than climbing Box

I understand one of the groups tried reversing the old club run route - how did peeps find it?

Nearly forgot. While at CSS a rider comes up to me and starts waving his smart phone (having unwrapped the cling film from around it ) at me: "where am I in relation to the station, can you show me on the map?" Umm, well, now that I can see the screen - not just the cracks - there's the sign for the railway station. Apparently he was dropped from a group of riders then picked up by some ACC riders who brought him to CSS but now he was trying to work where he was originally going. Dorking. Ok, we're kind of heading that way, Box Hill by any chance. Yes. Ok, back up to the roundabout, left at lights and then left again up Chipstead Valley Road etc... Told him to get the map OS Landranger 187 - so much easier to read than a tiny screen

Quite amused that I'd got asked - must have looked harmless
