Well, I stopped at CSS for a few minutes before heading off on my planned route. Probably for the best - I didn't have to try and keep up with anybody. Headed up Hollymeoak Lane to the Chipstead High Road before dropping down Reigate Hill. Picked up the cr route to Betchworth but then turned off towards Brockham or rather Strood Green after crossing the Mole. Then over to the Blackbrook Road and up Henfold to Newdigate before taking the road towards Beare Green then the road to Capel, round the RAB at the A24 and left towards Rusper. About halfway along I took a left, turned right at the end and dropped down to the Horsham bypass to fight my way over to the Newhouse Farm tea rooms at the second RAB - I do not recommend turning right there to get to the B2195 - decidedly hairy.
Timed it to perfection at Strawberry Fields, Del's lot were already there and eating and Cap'n Camden's second wave arrived just as I nipped down to get the milk for my tea I'd forgotten to pick up.
I understand Matt's bike exploded for the second time in a few weeks - so remind me not to ride behind him. He managed to find everything and put things back together - namely the rear-mech - to do rest of ride. Meanwhile Del's group had all the punctures - at least two of them.
Came back some of the way with Jon's lot but let them go at Newdigate and carried on at my own speed back home, clocking up just over 60 miles.
