Remaining Palace Races

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Remaining Palace Races

Postby Sylv » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:27 pm

There seems to be dwindling interest in these compared to early season (or it's just the impression I am getting), not the least from me as I've either been too tired in the evenings or trying to recover from other races,

My last race there was a month and a half ago,

The menace from rain seems to put us off too even early in the week and it seems to have been a pretty bad record so far this year,

There are six races left and I'm going to make an effort to try and make the next four,

Would be good to see the rest of the ACC team up there - in the E12 race, George, Toks, Stu, Hal - come on guys let's do a bit of team work and get a top ten or two before the end of August

well for me a number of times rain kept me away, then holidays, then my wife away on business, also wife's choir on Tuesday nights clashes so we take turns etc. Did manage to turn up last night :( . Holidays in August will see 2 nights missed as well.

I'm not going to scare a top 10 Sylv but I haven't got there more than a couple of times this season. Was always going to be an infrequent visitor with TTs (longer ones at the weekend or evening 10s of which I've done a couple and will be again this Tuesday), a couple I'd have made have been rained off.

I can't remember who's been there when but looking at the results there seem to have been less mixing regularly in the top 10 this year. Steve's been a pretty good performer (two 3rds and a 2nd) but I think a few more have been doing SL handicaps instead as their midweek race (Steve too of late and switching his form to results there), certainly seem to have been more ACC in the results at them than last year.

Would like to do some more races this year but I think that my tendonitis is going to mean my appearances at Palace will only be to marshal or act as cheerleader. :(

Slim change of something late August.
