LONDON X LEAGUE

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Lots of ACC friends at Alexandra Palace yesterday, if you weren't there you missed out on an awesome event - better than Belgium apparently. I got 2nd place (non Elite race)- and a Rouleur Cowbell!

Very well done to Sylv at Hillingdon today who finished a very impressive 4th after being amongst a lead group of 4,crashed but still managed to hold on to take 4th spot
Huge field of about 180 starters saw a manic bunch sprint at the start along the back straight on the tarmac, lots of pushing and elbowing for the 1st lap but it soon got strung out
My legs were already shredded after a hilly 10k xc race yesterday in Tonbridge and by the end of this race on my mtb i was cooked. Reckon i must have got at least top 100 :D
Really enjoyed it good friendly event as usual apart from one or two muppets inc a LD rider who was very rude to riders he was overtaking and lapping-totally uncalled for!
Surprisingly tough course didn't realise Hillingdon had so much off rd

Hey Carl
I only did a 5km run race yesterday
Yes it was extra busy today with the combined Central League
It's funny but me and a few others had the opposite problem, with lapped riders seemingly fighting for position and not yielding way. Goes both ways I guess.
Tried hopping over the sleepers .. fine on lap 1, lap 2 was travelling bit too fast .. big otb and buggered my STI and wheels, and lost touch with the top 4 group. Caught Gary for 4th, but the Corley guys (Central League, incl. Michael Smith past Bec Hill climb winner) plus Matt Webber were gone and I couldn't get back on them (3 vs 1 on such a crazy windy day I soon lost hope).
If that course didn't convince you on getting a cross bike though! You can also get your son a new bike at the same time, reckon he will bug you for it after weighing mine :D

Was that a park run 5k race Sylv? nowt like a hilly xc race
Yes i'm sure it must be a problem if your at the sharp end and looking for the win even i was lapping the back markers and finding it hard to past at certain points of the course and fighting for space but i saw an incident where a guy came of his bike trying to dismount up one of the short sharp hills and a certain Dynamo rider shout his head off at him to get out of his way- well out of order
hmm my son has been hinting for ages about getting a cx bike for him its never ending!. I was on course to buying the new Focus Mares AX 2.0 from wheelbase but they have messed me around with my order and deposit so i'm back to square one now!,if i want one now i'll have to go for the canti brakes unless i blow the budget.......

I def signed on as Sigma so someone's database must be old - so Carl the ACC cross prize for the Dec 18th race at your local (HH) is yours for the taking .. think you can decide on which bike to buy by then?

Legs were a bit heavy after too many 3h+ rides and I ended up close to a minute down on Matt, so think I'll focus more on some cross-specific training - max 1h hard.
