Hello masochists, want to ride through a wall of fans screaming support like a Tour rider? Here's your chance.
I've entered the Catford and Bec Hill Climbs again which are on the 9th October, the Catford on is on Yorks Hill at 10am and the Bec is on White Lane at 2pm. Both local (Catford's is near Ide and Bec's by Titsey).
Both are absolute classics and the Catford is the oldest continuous bike race in the World.
Both are 700 yards time trials up very steep hills and ensure a few minutes of agony but a fantastic experience.
They are TTs in the normal sense, each rider sent off at 1 minute intervals and the fastest rider wins. The difficult bit comes from the fact the the pusher off doesn't push you, they'll just let go, and then you have to get to the top of a stupidly steep hill as fast as you can. Over the years plenty of top riders have turned up to have a go as well so you could be in the same race as a star, or with Germain Burton a future star.
Entry is as per a normal open TT on a CTT form (link in the websites below). You just fill in the details (we are in London South district) and make sure you fill in the second page if you've done a hill climb before. Send with a cheque made payable to the relevant club by Tuesday 27th Sept. to the details in the web links below.
