Vectis Festival 2012

An early heads up for fellow testers that the Vectis Festival on the Isle Of Wight is on the May bank holiday (5th to 7th). Lucy and myself are going over and it would be good to have at least one more so we have a team .

Jon, George and I went last year and it's a great event on sporting courses, can be tough as it's a windy place, with plenty of prizes up for grabs, and the IOW is a nice place for a weekend anyway.

The festival consists of 3 TTs of increasing distance run on consecutive days:
Saturday 5th - 15.5miles 5pm start
Sunday 6th - 22.8miles 8am start
Monday 7th - 39.5miles 7am start
All have the same HQ, a pub .
The first course is up and down the Military Rd, the second is a big loop and a small loop which goes up the Military Rd and the winds through the lanes. The third is same as the second but two big laps and one small.

Prizes for each event and festival overall for scratch, women, and team, and all awarded after the final event.

I'll try and remember to send details tomorrow John, give me a shout if I forget as I have a shocking memory.

Lucy, Rob and I are going over. We (plus Rob's partner) are booked and have filled the b&b we're staying at but I'll send all the details of ferry crossings and b&b and if you are interested and want to stay nearby then there's places just down the road.

I'll send course maps too.

For 3 races it works out quite expensive once you factor in ferry crossings and 2 nights b&b but I view it as a nice weekend away with some racing thrown in, and it makes a nice short break.
