Redhill CC Sporting TT 19/02/12

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Might ride out and bellow something useful like "dig in" somewhere on course. Is the HQ the school again? Just so I know where to go and nick your cake :D .

Yes, the usual place, conveniently 15 minutes from the start, through Dorking's one-way system.

I don't understand how I got a start of 10.04 when everyone ahead of me from Addiscombe is faster than me (at the moment! )

I guess the plus side is it will be warmer! (hopefully!)

Ah, with a "proper" TT they don't use the simplistic "start the slowest first" system. They put all the fast guys on the 10 minutes (numbers ending zero) so they can't pace each other. Then the next fastest on the 5s, then fill in the gaps.

Also there's the minor issue of the information on the new CTT form being a bit rubbish.

George, Mohammed, Keith, Galeb, John is the seeding John. That's based on your starting numbers, although Mohammed may not have been seeded and be an unknown so just given an early start number to play safe from the organiser's point of view. You often fill in early seed numbers with a non-seeded rider so the faster riders are near the back of the field and have similar weather conditions.

It's not as complicated as it sounds and after a couple is easy to follow.

Have you asked Ben for permission to use his catchphrase?
