SCCU Sporting 21 - March 18th

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

I'm marshalling this one and the start sheet has just arrived.

20% of the entrants are ACC  8)

For those of you familiar with the race you know where I'll be standing. Would you like encouragement, swearing, or both :D

Will probably be one less ACC racing. Got knocked off on the way home on Tuesday evening, car pulled out side road without looking  . Fortunately I saw him start to head for me and swerved and was clipped more than whacked full on. Still dumped me on the road and smashed the bike but I seem to have got away with a cut shin (probably from the pedal) and a bruised shoulder and top of buttock. Hopefully okay for the spin on Friday but racing would be pushing it a bit too soon.

Will try and be up early enough to come out and offer some support too.

Sorry to hear that Andrew. Bit early in the season to be taking risks as you say and anyway looks like the weather could well be pants on Sunday.

Swearing for me please Snoop

Bad luck Andrew. I shall campaign for segregated cycle lanes on your behalf. Or magic blue paint that makes the cars not hurt.

Swearing for me please Snoop.

Possible DNS for me too; feels like I've got a touch of man-flu coming on.
Will see how it develops...

Oh dear, sorry to hear about the DNS's  And I'm one as well!!

I've been offered some work at the SRS cyclosportive on Sunday, and to be honest this suits me as I've still got a cold I can't shift and legs feel like sh rubbish!!!! I'm not sure if any Addiscombe are riding the event? The course is good, I've ridden quite a lot of it in the last couple of days.

I've booked the Tooting SPOCO in a couple of weeks on the Bletchingley course, so I'll get my pain in then :D :D

I'm still intending to ride - although my shoulder hurts like hell. Have to try out the TT bike at some stage.

We still get the Rawson Shield points for a DNF, right?

I've been like this for 2 weeks now, loads of it about and hard to shift. Not trained for over 2 weeks solid now, very annoying.

It is a pity George, a good event and Don's a top bloke. I'll be cheering you on for the win from pub corner at the top of the hill in my yellow tabard :D .
