Brighton Mitre Hilly 25

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Brighton Mitre Hilly 25

I'll be riding the Brighton Mitre Hilly 25, on course GS/999 tomorrow
The weather forecast in Brighton looks terrible; heavy rain and 20mph wind - but I'm not going to DNS!!!
Has anyone ridden this course? I'm thinking about doing it on my road bike ... Any thoughts?

Don't know the course Lucy but its got to be the TT bike all the way, i rode all the Spoco courses last season on my TT bike and have raced hilly duathlons on the TT bike up in the peak district
Hope the weather holds off, good luck!

Never ridden it, too sensible :) , just know that it starts by descending Devil's Dyke and finishes by climbing it. No reason not to ride your TT bike unless you just don't want to get it covered in cack, just stay on the base bar for the descent if you're not happy descending on the aero extensions. If it's wet and you use carbon wheels just bear in mind the braking distance will be longer. You can feather them a bit ahead of proper braking to wash the water off but the braking distance will still be longer. I never find it a problem as you will slow but just brake earlier and remember that the first bit of braking doesn't really slow you but washes off the water before they start to bite.
