Palace Crits 2012

Please find below details from Cycle Sport re the delay in starting the 2012 Palace Crit Summer League season, and the proposed new dates.

Palace like many local services has had to cut back on staff and there has been much discussion with park authorities about the 2012 season and thankfully all racing will go ahead, but will be delayed until May 8 whilst repairs are completed to the road surface.
'If you can race Palace you can race anywhere', is often quoted and very true. The Crystal Palace Circuits are held in the north of the south London park, in the shadow of the TV/Radio masts, on a tight course with plenty of bends and a hill.
There are no facilities close at hand, but there are toilets elsewhere in the park.
New for 2012 is a refreshment wagon providing drinks and food.
Race distances may vary depending on daylight. There is no pre-entry and entry is only available on the night.

Update: It had been hoped to begin the 2012 season on May 8 but with repairs yet to be completed racing is suspended until further notice. We will let you know when we have news of repair and safety assesments having been undertaken - WATCH THIS SPACE!

British Cycling have the race showing on 5 June in their online calendar. Does anyone know if this will be the first Palace of 2012?

I think the BC site has been saying this every tues Peter but perhaps its finally due to start?
