Oh no! A shame you guys didn't make it, it was a good one, the rain stopped just in time at 6pm, road quite wet but the course has exactly two corners so not a big issue.
The turnout was quite low (30 or so) and we started as a small first group of 4 4th cats, quite a hard race in such a small group with the strong wind. The strongest of us, a Kingston Wheelers rider, went away on his own with 3 laps to go, I declined to join him, thinking it will be too hard in the wind, bad decision as he went on to win the race on his own!
The 3 of us were working well together, and with no sign of the main bunch at the bell, started to be hopeful for the podium. Unfortunately we were caught with about 500m to go by the bunch of 20 riders or so. I manged to hang on at the back of the group in the last straight, but the front and the sprint for second was clearly beyond my strengh, oh well...
Congrats to the (now former) 4th cat Kingston rider (oops forgot his name) for a classy win!
