Interclub "10", 3rd July 2012

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

"Unfortunately" I have to miss this one as I'll be over the Channel watching the Tour. :-)

Jon

I usually give Bletchingly course a swerve-I`m more than willing to help, pushing-off or marshalling, if it would help.

Regards

Terry

I just googled the course to try to find a map of it, and found this http://www.beccyclingclub.co.uk/spage-t ... 039_s.html

Unless I'm getting confused (always possible), the Bec are planning to use the course on the same day and time as us and Norwood Paragon - might be worth checking?

Um, I've not decided whether to do this yet. Does anyone have a map? Just how hilly is it exactly?!

But only one lap.

Bec CC are starting at 7.20, then it's us and NP at 7.30.

Drag up A25 through Bletchingley, long 2 stage descent down Coopers Hill to the T junction, left and the 3 climbs to the finish with a flat bit (by Outwood windmill) and a small swoop downhill in the middle. For me the first of the 3 is the worst, and the last you finish at the top of so you can just go flat out up it with whatever you have left - granted that's not always a lot :D .

Bletchingley is a nice course to do :D

... but ok, seeing as you asked, I did do a little bimble from Caterham out to Bletchingley yesterday. Here is the Strava for the whole ride, but it includes most of the loop. And at least you don't have to come back up Hilltop again!

http://app.strava.com/rides/11692131

There's been quite a lot of re-surfacing out that way. Coppers Hill was done last week, it still has some gravel hanging about. Strange that they didn't do the section after than, past where you go under the fly over, downhill and onto the flat that feels rough, rough, rough!

On the up, Scotts Hill is always the worse lump as Andrew says, but I love the bit past the windmill ... and at least you only need to do it once for the 10 :D

Right just found it, this should be a link to the 10 course on Strava!! http://app.strava.com/activities/5972271#113913343

I think it's a 10.8 mile TT officially, the extra 0.8 are uphill :) .
