That was a bloody hard race!
E1/2 was prob 30% of the size of 3/4's.
Ghaleb/me started with E3/4's and from the gun we were out the back of the pack. My aim going into this race was to last more than three laps, which I successfully did! I lasted to lap 5 I think (stopped counting after 3 as the effort was sooo hard!) but the elastic snapped after that on the back incline (as always on this circuit!) .... Ghaleb lasted an extra lap than me I think, although I didn't step off the gas too much after being dropped and had the peleton in my sights for a good 3 laps or so, eventually though they just kept pulling away on the back climb!
Me and a De Vers geeza started working together and passing all the guys being dropped, this included Ghaleb who stayed with us for a bit and then dropped off, we had a good pace going! I totally pulled out some laps later though, was just tired and saw Shadow/Ant having a chat on the first corner and thought I would join em for a chin wag!
Shadow did OK he told me, had chased a break away that took it out of him ! The guy that won the London Nocturne this year was in a break with some other guy in the E1/2 race and got 2nd on the line! Strong geeza, shame he did most of the work in that break from what I could see!
Here is the sprint for E 1/2, the two in the break and then the 2nd bunch of riders:
