Surrey League AGM & Prize Presentation 2012

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Come and celebrate with us and all of the 2012 Surrey League competition winners.

Capel Village Memorial Hall, 55 The Street, Capel, Surrey RH5 5EL

Sunday December 2nd 2012 - 11:00 AM

We will start with the Prize Presentation, hosted by Keith Butler.
A free buffet will then be available and throughout the afternoon.
Please bring your own beer/wine
Then on to a short informal AGM where all members are welcome to give us their ideas for next season.
This will be followed by clubs fixing their dates for their events next season.

This will be the 30th Anniversary of the first meeting of the Surrey League. All members are welcome to attend, but we would like an idea of who will be attending so we can arrange for refreshments.

Keith Butler intends to retire from active participation with the Surrey League at this AGM so he can go on trips without any worries. This means that we will need some groups of members to take over some of the Surrey League's responsibilities. It is your League, so we want to hear your ideas on how we are to build on our success over the last 30 years and the success of the Olympics this year and make cycle racing a popular sport with the villagers around Surrey and Sussex.

You can book your place at no cost on-line @ RiderHQ

Surrey League AGM today.

The Shadow came away with 3 trophies. Me one. I've also a healthy cheque of winnings for ACC riders in Surrey League races (we were 5th overall) to pass on to Phil N. 20 riders raced in ACC colours in Surrey League races this season. I think that the usual form is for the winnings to be presented at the Club Dinner.

The Surrey League also wants to get their stage races running again (Easter 3 day and the 5 day Jaunts/Revolutions). It would require a club to run each day plus an overall responsible individual would be required.

Not just us two. The following riders all scored Surrey League points whilst racing for Addiscombe last season. Each point is worth ca$h (although you'll need to have joined Surrey League to benefit from it). Note, if you only finished one handicap race outside of the top 10, your winnings are unlikely to cover your bar bill at the Club's Annual Dinner.
