2013 Season - National U16 Help!

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Hi Toks,
Thank you for your great advice, i'm taking it all in. I am working hard at school and i'm hoping to get no less that A*'s because it will make my mum proud!! :D and of course it will give me more opportunity's.
No don't worry, you haven't put me off my dream; I have lots of natural talent (my mum says so)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure about the parents thing. I lost my Dad when I was small and my mum works all hours to keep us going, but I feel lucky to have what I have and I will succeed! That said, I could do with some help too, so who is Paul H?!!!!!!!!

Your welcome Matt, I genuinely hope you reach all your goals whatever they happen to be: academic or sporting ones. Well done for bigging up your Mum, Mums don't get enough props for the job they do :D :D Now if by chance her or your Dad have handed over the right genes (nope, not not an old pair of Levis) then ACC may well have a future National Champion in its ranks. :D

PS Have you been over to Herne Hill Cycle Track Yet, they've got a good bunch of youth and junior riders - probably doing cyclocross at this time of the year

Read the book Bounce, no such thing as natural talent, time on the bike and training is what you need. Also if you are training to be a high level cyclist lay off the upper body stuff, that gives you weight and will slow you down.

Cheers

Thanks Keith,

Unfortunately one has already passes and the next one (Wednesday next week) I am working in a bike shop.
Cheers for looking out for me though!
