Club evening 10 - 20th May

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Club evening 10 - 20th May

Postby Phil H » Fri May 16, 2014 12:24 am

This is the first event in this year's club TT series. Phil Nash and Tim Coales are kindly organising.

A couple of things to note: we need a couple of volunteers for pusher and turn marshall. Also our first start for this race is at 19:45 so it is likely to get quite gloomy by the finish (at least I do) so be advised that you should have a a rear light (although this isn't compulsory and we don't have to clean the road afterwards).

As normal, the start is on Spook Hill in North Holmwood. Most people park in the carpark up Inholms Lane (not the sports club one but the National Trust one).

Maximum 30 riders. Entries and helpers here please.

Shame. Nobody went under 20 minutes on the Open 10 last year and I'd like to see someone do it. I understand that Dr. Hutch has the course record with 19:04 so that's your target.

Tim: can you put me and Tom down. Ta.

Depends if they give us a friendly wave on the A23 on a Saturday morning when we're on the way to Brighton

Matt, I'm pretty sure it was you who ignored me and my group on the club run route a few weeks ago... but yes, 2nd claim are allowed to ride.

I plan to ride down and shout abuse, I mean encouragement and Claire will be joining me. I've taken a half day because I hadn't realised it was such a late start - I will be riding with as many lights etc as poss. The plan will be to come down just before everyone rushes home from work and find a decent pub in which to get refreshments and chill till time to get to the carpark :D I think it's the Surrey Oak just up from Inholms Lane. People are welcome to join us.

I've been working or racing on Saturday's, couldn't have been me. I'm not one of those grumpy riders who put their head down and ignore people!

Would be good to catch up with everyone anyway. Might try and get down for one of the Brighton rides if I can wangle my way off work.
