Hi Peeps, I'm far from 'fit' at the moment (these meds are knocking me for 6) Happy to ride if numbers are needed, but equally happy to marshall, and 'whoop 'n' hollar' on the sidelines.

Well done, Matt, this is more of sporting course so be warned, it's hilly and also, if I remember rightly, it's a bit over 10 miles - I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong. The normal club tt course is out at Holmwood on a dual carriageway but I don't think we're back there for a bit now.

Just been on Faceache first time in ages and I see Jon has suggested celebratory/consolatory drinks at the Whyte Hart in Bletchingley afterwards. Might see if I can get out but whether I'm on bike or foot (I've checked I can get a bus from Redhill to Bletchingley) I'll need a lift back to civilisation.

Spot on Amy it is 10.7 miles I believe, and it is a bit lumpy. Well done for having a go Matt. Don't go out too hard as there is a drag to start and then a long two stage downhill, you then have three climbs on the return leg to the finish, which is at the top of the third hill. They are not that bad, have a bit of a kick to them but quite short so you aren't grovelling up hill for ages.

Speak for yourself,

Anyway, what I'm trying to convey is start off tt'ing on this course and the Holmwood one will feel like a breeze

If Holmwood feels like a breeze, you're really not trying hard enough.

IMO don't let people scare you off lumpy courses. Ride at the maximum level you can sustain for the duration of the course, whether it's flat, windy, or hilly. (Yes, I appreciate there's pacing strategies, but that's fine tuning.)
