All change for the Cyclo-X Trophy

All change for the Cyclo-X Trophy

Postby Richard M » Sat Nov 01, 2003 10:04 am

Next Sunday (Nov 9) will see the next round of the London Cyclo-X League taking place at Eastway. In a departure from previous years, this race will decide who receives the Cyclo-X trophy for this season. It will be awarded to the highest placed Addiscombe rider in the senior race. Anyone may enter, you don't even need a Cyclo-X bike as MTB's are eligible too. Entry costs are £10 (plus a £3 surcharge if you don't have BC membership). The race starts at 1pm.

Current favourites to take the title are Shaun 'Haribo' Bayliss and myself, Richard Munday, although it could be anybody if the last race at Eastway was any sort of form book.

I'm afraid that for this year, at least, you'll have to buy a tin of tacks. Of course, the more women that race this year (and next), could allow me to make changes for next year.

Seriously, it's too late for any changes for this year, but for next year I could, and providing the interest is there, would like to make a change. We currently have a trophy that may be awarded to Juniors purely on merit, that could become the Womens (Ladies?) Trophy, as at the present time I believe we only have 1 junior cyclo-x rider.
