I see he's just passed the 3,000km mark. Next benchmark 2,000 miles. By the end, he'll be less than 300km short of this year's Tour de France - but completed in less than 3 weeks and without support.

Well done Lee!

He managed to do the transcontinental in 13 3/4 days and was joint 43rd - I make that roughly the midpoint of all starters.
A quote:

"After the Albania experience we were very conscious of getting enough rest. Also I was considering "options" / scratching. We redefined success, target was now to finish before 14 days, balancing effort with enjoyment. We met lots of riders carrying injuries and pained expressions. We thought about riding longer or harder but....tribute to those that finished earlier, sterling efforts from all."

This is really a great achievement - Well done Lee and hope you get some well deserved rest and time with your family!

Hope to see you down at the club soon Lee!

Hello, just thought I'd follow up on the thread.

Sorry for the late response and thank you all for the support.

While recuperating in Istanbul I did type a message for the board but when it came to "submit" the phone or forum had a glitch, message lost, urghhh.

I've finally finished the reportage, it's a bit long be-warned
http://www.hambrosia.co.uk/

Over the next few weeks I'll be adding some more pages, pre-race preparation, kit list, etc. I found others blogs from TCR2013 very useful.

If you are interesting TCR 2015 join the mailing list, application will be open in the next few weeks, I hear places will be highly contested - http://reportage.transcontinentalrace.com/?page_id=108

See you on the next club run,

L
