Cateye computer

Postby tel » Fri Oct 18, 2013 2:25 pm

I have a Cateye wireless computer on my bike. The problem is that the battery keeps running low.

Any ideas what is causing the battery to drain after a couple of rides. I put a new battery in-no problems-two rides later, nothing.

I`m very careful when renewing the battery not to touch the battery too much.

Water ingress?

Is it a recent development or was it like that from new?

I must admit I gave up ages ago and went for a Garmin as it's easy to swap between bikes.

Had something similar with one of mine once and it was the battery in the fork mount not the head unit. I'm sure you've done this as you're not as daft as me.

I've discovered that since switching from a wired computer to wireless on my commuter that wireless ones don't work with dynamos when the light is on, back to wired for me on that bike.

One season old and only started end of August-will look into the Garmin option. Maybe an Xmas pressie to myself.

Thanks

That's odd Andrew. Had no issues with my dynamo and wireless computer!
