TdF Stage 14 Grenoble-Risoul

Hello all,

As I know there are many among you infinitely more experienced in the art of watching le tour, I wanted to ask for your advice...

On Saturday 19th July I plan to head to Briancon on my way back from the coast, on my way to my overnight stop in Annecy. The tour goes through Briancon just before it begins its ascent of the Izoard around 15.20. I estimate we'll arrive in Briancon around midday, so may even catch the Caravanne too. Once the race has passed it will be into the traffic jams to get out of Briancon into Italy and round back to Annecy.

My main question is, how bad will the traffic be, and will we ever make it to Briancon in time!?

Having only seen the Tour in Paris and London, I don't have any experience of what it's like on the open roads, let alone the mountains, so all advice gratefully received!

Thanks,

Adam Cotterell
