Thank you all for offering to help - great response!

I have updated the original post with the list of marshals - we should have enough now.

We need two of the marshals to arrive early - at 5:45 to man the sign on desk and someone to drive the lead car (with car preferably) - any volunteers?

There's also details on the original post of where you need to be and when.

Any questions though, just drop me an email on matthalvatzis80@hotmail.com or Tom Hansell on thomas.hansell@gmail.com

[quote="Amy"]Following Jon's plea for more marshals - I could see if I can swap my day on inbox and get away half an hour earlier but I'd need a lift from somewhere to the circuit. The attachment shows the train I'd aim for. I would like to come out anyway if at all possible.

Amy,
I can pick you up at Upper Warlingham (17:43). Let me know.
I forgot to include your name in the list I posted to Matt H. He might still need more Marshals - I don't know as he did not say in his edited post (above). Leave it to you to find out.

Sorry, but I'm double booked for Thursday so will not be able to help after all
Also, can I mentioned that the drivers need to be BC members

Good luck

I can marshall for this race if I'm needed.

To reiterate my post on Facebook, we still require a LEAD CAR DRIVER

You would need your own car (obviously) but other than that you just need to be at Horne Park Golf Club car park from 18:30, where you will be fully briefed.

This is a crucial role that we can't do without - even if you can't make it, please consider asking a friend/relative in the area if they might be up for it!

Cheers, George - I've swapped my day on the inbox and when my manager is in tomorrow just double check it's ok to take a short lunch and leave that bit early on Thursday. And then it's just to hope that the trains are running ok.

All sorted - been OK'd to leave early. Just need to buy ticket in advance to Upper Warlingham and hope trains are running OK... Won't mind if I don't have to marshal

Massive thanks to everyone who gave up their time to help out tonight. Shame about the big crash at the end which involved 2 ACC riders

Yes, well done to Matt H, Jonathan Pontin et al for organising it all. Good to see people stepping up to the mark and getting involved. Does credit to the whole club.

Do hope nothing serious has developed overnight - from what I saw of the guys on the floor, the worst injuries seemed to be a couple of dislocated shoulders, a broken arm or two or rib. All things considered it could have been a lot worse :(

No broken bones. Ashley and Ian were the ACC riders involved. Ian came off quite badly and has has a lot of road rash and cuts and bruises but is doing ok. Ash did well to come away with a few scrapes and some nettle rash. Unfortunately his bike wasn't so lucky and he snapped his forks.

Lovely to see so many ACC racing and standing at the side of the road cheering us on. My first race for 2 years and I survived. Phew.

Just to add my thanks to all that turned out and represented ACC at the handicap race last night, especially tom and matt for organising, all the marshals out on the course, those helping with sign-on, finish line judges and everyone helping after the crash.
Despite the crash it was a great event to ride in and a great advert for our club :D

Big thanks to everyone who helped out on Thursday night. The comisaire said the marshaling was excellent and so did many of the riders. It was also great for us racing to have you guys cheering us on.
